The Tulsa Police Department Property Room is open to the public
by appointment only.
Monday through Friday (excluding City
Holidays)
0830 - 1130 and 1230 - 1530
The Property Room may be required to shut down without notice
due to COVID or any other unforeseen circumstance.
To expedite picking up property keep the following in
mind:
- To claim property, you must come in person at your appointment
time and present a photo ID (driver's license, state ID card
etc.)
- If you have been given a Property Receipt Number
(example: BR1111) or Incident Number (example: 2020-009560)
by a Detective working the case, please bring the number with
you.
- You may not pick up property for another person unless you have
the original notarized, signed statement from that person.
- Items being held for the rightful owner will only be stored and
held for 90 days. Property not claimed within 90 days is put on a
court order and forfeited.
- If your items are being held as Evidence,
HERE are steps for
getting your items released.
- If you are inquiring about a firearm, you will need to provide
proof of ownership and a valid photo ID. You will then be required
to fill out a background check.
- The Tulsa Police Property Room is part of the Detective
Division and stores all department evidence, items turned in for
destruction, items being held for the rightful owner and unclaimed
found property.
The Tulsa Police Property Room disposes of unclaimed property
after 90 days of receipt. Certain items of Property and Evidence is
sent out for auction administered by the City of Tulsa Finance
Department. The time and date of the auction is set by the
Finance Department. Interested persons can consult the City of
Tulsa website for that information.
It is difficult, if not impossible, to return stolen property to
the rightful owner without a serial number or unique identifying
number. Use the link to access a form to record your valuable
possessions, print the form and store it somewhere safe. Do not
send the form to the Tulsa Police Department. Personal
