Sex Crimes Detectives Need Help

ARCHIVED PRESS RELEASE: Published 1-2-2013

On December 21, 2012 at approximately 2:40 to 3:00 AM, a sexual assault occurred in the area of 6100 E. Pine St.  The victim was walking west from the area of E. Pine St. and N. Sheridan Rd.  She noticed the suspects walking from the east and they were calling out to her.  She stated that she continued to walk through the Snow's Office Supply parking lot and they continued to follow her as she walked west on E. Pine St., where they caught up to her at the 6100 block of E. Pine (next to an AEP fenced transformer station on the south side of Pine).  The black male suspect grabbed her from behind and pushed her into a ditch at this location and used her necklace to strangle her until she lost consciousness.  The black male then sexually assaulted the victim while the white male stood next to a privacy fence at this location and watched and told the black male that he was "next".  The victim reported that a vehicle drove up and yelled out the window for the suspects to stop.  This caused the suspects to run southbound along the privacy fence from E. Pine St. away from the victim.

Suspect#2: White male, mid to late 20's, similar build but thinner than suspect #1, blonde short straight hair. Wearing white baggy t-shirt and light blue baggy jeans.
Both had strong odor of marijuana.
