We're celebrating National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week by shouting out 911 dispatchers.
Six new Public Safety 911 Dispatchers graduated from the academy on Monday. Chris, Ashley, Sarah, Baylee, Kara and Payton completed five weeks of training covering topics such as Tulsa's geography, 10 codes, call types and interviewing skills.
These dispatchers start their on-the-job training next week for another five weeks to give them experience in dealing with a variety of emergency and non-emergency calls.
