DEPARTMENT STRUCTURE

Chief's Section

The Chief's Section is comprised of: Planning, Policy, & Quality Control; Communications; Internal Affairs; Community Engagement; Accreditation; and Payroll. 

Investigative Bureau

The Investigations Bureau is headed by a Deputy Chief and contains: Detective Division; Property Room; Special Investigations Division; Forensic Laboratory; Fleet Operations.

Property

Property is responsible for intaking, storing, and releasing all citizen property and evidence collected in the regular course of police business.

Administrative Bureau

The Administrative Bureau is headed by a Deputy Chief and contains: Training Division; Police Records; and Public Safety Communications (Dispatch - 911).

Records

Police Records houses all records personnel responsible for managing TPD records, records requests, and state reporting.

Forensic Lab

TPD's independent, nationally awarded Forensic Lab is responsible for processing most all criminal evidence collected by Tulsa Police Officers.

Operations Bureau

The Operations Bureau is headed by a Deputy Chief and contains: Gilcrease Patrol Division; Mingo Valley Patrol Division; Riverside Patrol Division; Special Operations Division; Honor Guard; and Pipes & Drums.

Dispatch - 911

Dispatch - 911, officially designated as Public Service Communications (PSC), houses all dispatch personnel responsible for call taking, officer dispatch, and NCIC inquiries.

Training

TPD's Training Division contains: Officer Recruiting; Background Investigations; Rookie Academy; Career Development; Tactical Training; Firearms Range; Explorers; and Training Compliance. This division is led by a Major.
