Tulsa Police Officer Josh Metcalf held the torch at the opening ceremony for the 2023 Special Olympics Oklahoma Summer Games on Wednesday.
The Summer Games run through Friday.
Officer Metcalf has been significantly involved in Special Olympics Oklahoma, including the reveal of the TPD patrol car wrapped in honor of the organization earlier this year. The Rotary Club of Tulsa recently awarded him with the 2023 Police Officer of the Year Above and Beyond Award.

It's inspiring to see Officer Josh Metcalf so dedicated to the Special Olympics Oklahoma. His commitment to the community and support for such a meaningful event truly makes a difference. It reminds me of how engaging activities can bring people together, much like the fun I've had with geoguessr. Events like these highlight the importance of community spirit and inclusivity!
Love seeing our officers show up for the community like this. Big shoutout to all the athletes—your determination is incredible! Retro Bowl
Mad respect for the lads! I'm rn prepping for an event hosted by local Mansfield running store :D
