Earlier this year, Public Safety Communications, commonly called 911 Dispatch, started using the new Prepared 911 system.
The new system is a technology overlay Dispatchers and the Real Time Information Center can use on every call. Prepared 911 transcribes every 911 call, has the ability to translate 33 languages into SMS text, and has many multimedia functions.
Using Prepared 911, callers can send photos, video, and even livestream with Dispatchers. These functions are crucial in providing accurate information to first responders and helping them respond faster in emergencies.
Recently, we told you a 911 Dispatcher used the system with a caller to help locate a missing teenager. See our previous post here.
