Tulsa Police arrest man accused of slashing tires, impersonating police

Tulsa Police Officers arrested a a man accused of slashing several tires, impersonating police, and multiple other crimes on Thursday.


On June 12th, 2025, around 8:40 p.m., Officers responded to a home near 3rd and Garnett for a call about a tire slashing.


The victim said Leonardo Cordero was high on drugs and slashed all four of her tires, then ran across the street and slashed her neighbor's tires as well, then fled the area.


Not long after, Officers responded to a call about an Armed Robbery near 1200 S. Hwy 169 Northbound.


The caller was with another individual on the side of the highway, trying to change a tire. She said a man, later confirmed to be Leonardo Cordero, approached them on the side of the highway, claiming to be police.


The victim said Cordero threatened them and said he had grenades, then he slashed a tire and ran across the highway.


Around 10:20 p.m., Officers received a call about vandalism happening at the Quiktrip near 11th and 169. The caller said a man, also later confirmed to be Leonardo Cordero, was slashing tires in the parking lot.


Officers quickly converged on the area and found Cordero running westbound on 11th St., and he was taken into custody. Officers recovered several large fixed-blade knives in nearby parking lots.


Leonardo Cordero was arrested for:

  • Terrorism Hoax

  • False Impersonation of a Peace Officer

  • Attempted Burglary from Vehicle

  • Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon

  • Malicious Injury to Property (4 counts)

  • Public Intoxication


This is an arrest, not a conviction.
