Tulsa Police Officers arrested a man Thursday in connection with a stabbing at Turkey Mountain.
On July 24, 2025, around 6:40 a.m., a 25-year-old woman was jogging at Turkey Mountain when she was approached by a man who stabbed her in the face and head. The suspect fled into the woods, and the woman called for help.
The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Through the investigation, Detectives identified Jesse James Brown as the suspect. Just after 6:00 PM, a group of Officers responded to the area of 68th and Elwood after learning that the suspect had returned to the area.
When we arrived, the suspect, Jesse James Brown, took off on foot and ran back towards Turkey Mountain. Several Officers and a K-9 started to close in on the suspect.
Unbeknownst to the suspect, one of our "Wily Veteran" Lieutenants (this was a self-description) was at Turkey Mountain ready to intercept him. The suspect was apprehended without incident and booked in for Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.
Although incidents like these are uncommon, we advise everyone to exercise caution while traveling around Tulsa or any other city.
It's always safer to travel in groups, keep your cell phone accessible, stay alert, and, if you feel comfortable, carry some form of self-defense equipment (such as pepper spray, Shillelagh, or a legally owned firearm).
This is an arrest and not a conviction.
