A Tulsa Police Child Crisis Unit Detective was among the recipients of the Pillar of Hope Award on Friday.
Detective Jill Sallee and six other awardees were selected for the award by a group of her peers and the board of the Child Advocacy Network. The award honors their dedication and significant contributions to supporting children who have experienced abuse.
The Pillar of Hope Award recognizes the commitment and compassion of individuals who work, either directly or indirectly, with children affected by abuse or crime, and who advocate for others to join the fight against child abuse.
Detective Sallee was honored in the law enforcement category for her tireless efforts in seeking justice for our most vulnerable populations through her work in the Child Crisis Unit.
She has been a part of this unit for nearly four years, diligently advocating for the welfare and justice of children who have suffered abuse. Additionally, Detective Sallee participates in the department's peer-to-peer support program and helps train academy officers on how to navigate various challenging situations they may encounter.
