AMBER Advocate Magazine's Summer 2025 issue featured an interview with Tulsa Police Lt. Chris O'Keefe.
The issue of the magazine focused in on AMBER Alert in Indian Country, including information about implementation, multijurisdictional collaboration, and responses in areas with large tribal communities. O'Keefe, an AMBER Alert Coordinator, talked about taking a "pedal to the metal" approach in finding missing children.
"An AMBER Alert is essentially a manhunt, and I've developed an expertise in finding people," O'Keefe said. "Now I oversee the process after countless directives to 'Go, go, go— find them!' I also manage the sex offender registration process, and those are the individuals we look at right away whenever there’s a missing child case."
O'Keefe joined the Tulsa Police Department in 2001, and began supervising the Sex and Violent Offender Registration Unit in 2003.
