Tulsa Police Lt. McCarty presented Officer of the Year award

Tulsa Police Lt. Amber McCarty received the Officer of the Year award at the Rotary Club of Tulsa on Wednesday.


Police Chief Larsen, Fire Chief Baker, and Mayor Monroe Nichols spoke Wednesday afternoon at the 2025 Above and Beyond Awards Ceremony.


Lt. McCarty joined the department more than 17 years ago. She currently leads the Mental Health Unit, which works hand-in-hand with the Community Response Team to combine law enforcement with mental health professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for those in need. She also works with the Officer Wellness Unit and Peer-to-Peer Program, providing valuable resources to Officers.


Lt. McCarty is also active with the Mighty Oaks Foundation, a faith-based nonprofit organization dedicated to helping veterans, first responders, and their spouses.



Firefighter Captain Chisom Frazier was chosen as the Tulsa Firefighter of the Year for the Tulsa Fire Department.


The Rotary Club of Tulsa awards each recipient $5,000 to donate to their charity of choice. Lt. McCarty chose to evenly split hers between the Mighty Oaks Foundation and the Woodlake Church, which holds regular meetings for Mighty Oaks.
