This past week, the Tulsa Police Department bid a heartfelt farewell to one of our most courageous and inspiring officers, Aurash Zarkeshan, as he officially retired from the force on October 15th, 2025.

Officer Zarkeshan, or "Zark" as he's known, joined Tulsa Police in 2019. Officer Zarkeshan survived a tragic event in 2020, when he was severely wounded during a car stop that claimed the life of Sergeant Craig Johnson.

In 2020, Mayor G.T. Bynum proclaimed October 15th as "Aurash Zarkeshan Day" to honor his bravery and miraculous recovery.

Officer Zarkeshan is leaving Tulsa Police, but not the City of Tulsa. He has taken a job in the IT department. He's also getting married soon, and beginning a new life journey.

This video highlights his career, his journey, and his story with the department.

Please join us in the comments below to thank Officer Zarkeshan for his service and wish him a happy retirement!
