Welcome to the Tulsa Police Department's monthly newsletter! It's been a busy start to the year so far and we're hoping to build on that momentum headed into February. Let's take a look at January around TPD!

Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade


The Tulsa Police Department participated in Tulsa's 46th annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemorative Parade this month.


This year's theme, "Tulsa: The Dream in Motion" was carried out despite some of the coldest temperatures of the year hitting the city over the weekend.

City of Tulsa Birthday Party


We were proud to take part in a birthday party at the Cox Business Center celebrating Tulsa's 127th birthday!


City employees, family, and friends gathered for games, food, music and fun to celebrate all things Tulsa!

Citizens Academy Registration Open Now

Community Meeting in East Tulsa


Chief Larsen spoke at the Tulsa Global District Property & Business Owner Association Meeting held at Hannah Hall in East Tulsa.

 

The meeting provided local business owners the opportunity to get to know Chief Larsen and have their questions answered about the Tulsa Police Department.

Tulsa Police Homicide Unit ends year with 100% solve rate on 2024 cases


Last year, the Tulsa Police Department investigated 50 Homicides in the city of Tulsa. The Homicide Unit ended the year with a solve rate of 100%.

 

We spent a little time with Homicide Lt. Watkins talking about the work the unit has done this last year.

Tulsa gun theft numbers trend down in 2024


We’re excited to announce that we saw a more than 30% reduction in stolen guns reported in 2024.


Working together, we hope to see these numbers come down even more in 2025.

Auto thefts in Tulsa continue positive trend in 2024


The Tulsa Police Auto Theft Unit has been working diligently and continues to put forth tremendous effort to reduce the number of auto thefts in the Tulsa area.

 

The unit has also seen a major reduction in the total number of auto theft related cases, including auto thefts, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, attempted auto thefts, chop shops, and other related cases.
