Friends, family, community members and officers gathered at the Tulsa Police Training Division on Friday night for a candlelight vigil honoring the 41 Tulsa police officers who've died in the line of duty since 1917.
Hundreds of people gathered for the formal memorial service Saturday morning in honor of those fallen officers.
Tulsa Mayor G.T. Bynum issued a proclamation recognizing May 6 as "Police Memorial Day" and Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt issued his own proclamation recognizing the day as "Tulsa Police Officers' Memorial Day."
